Kaylen A. Howard

Hello,

I am a recent graduate from the University of North Texas, located in the City of Denton. I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism with the addition of two minors one in sculpting and the other in social science.

I have reporting and anchoring experience from a newsbreak I began as a capstone, my senior year of college.  I anchored, shot video, interviewed sources, wrote the script, and edited whole newsbreak on my own

My field reporting experience came from the summer-long program I recently completed called News21.  The paid apprenticeship was a part of Arizona State University Walter Cronkite School of Journalism in Phoenix, AZ.

News21 trained me in cinematography and investigative reporting. I learn how to do in-depth research on hard news topics regarding Indigenous Peoples and the hate crimes committed against them.
